Most trips start and end here, and it's easy to see why people fall for it. Dal Lake, the houseboats, that calm, unhurried pace, nothing about it feels forced. You'll spend a good chunk of your trip right in the city itself.

An evening on Dal Lake in a shikara is one of those things you just don't skip. Gliding past floating gardens, maybe spotting a bird or two, it's simple and slow, but somehow ends up being the part people remember most clearly.

Nishat, Shalimar, Chashme Shahi, all centuries old and still holding up beautifully. Trimmed lawns, fountains, mountains sitting quietly in the background. It's not a rushed kind of place, you just wander through slowly and forget to check your phone.

Step away from the usual spots for a bit and walk through the Old City. Narrow lanes, old wooden houses, shops that have probably been there for generations. It's a completely different side of Srinagar, and honestly one of its more genuine corners.

This is where the trip picks up a bit, mainly thanks to the gondola ride. Snow in winter, green meadows come summer, either way it tends to be the stop that sticks with people long after they're back home.

Slower pace here, rivers and pine trees all around. Good spot to just sit by the water or take a short pony ride if that's your thing. Even on a short trip, this stop rarely feels rushed, and most people wish they had more time here.
This one’s mostly yours to plan. Aru Valley is close by if you want peaceful meadows, or Betaab Valley if a short walk with green slopes and cold mountain water sounds good. Chandanwari’s also an option if you’re up for a longer drive, it’s where the Amarnath Yatra begins each year. No fixed schedule, just pick what sounds good to you. Overnight again in Pahalgam.
